New ride

I have been traveling to Rexburg for school 5 days a week and usually at least three times in my truck which gets 12-13 miles per gallon. I decided to buy me a road bike for the summer to help save on gas. I had been looking for almost two months when I finally decided I was going to have to save some more money because I just couldn't find anything good for around 1500 dollars. Then one day when I got out of my class I happened to find this beautiful charmer.

I found it on craigslist and they were asking 1200 O.B.O. It was in Twin Falls so I offered him 1000 and he said yes. So I asked him if he would hold it for me while I came to get it since I live in Idaho Falls and again he said Yes. I could hardly believe it. It is a 2002 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe VT600CD, it has 12,480 miles on it and of course as you can see it is PINK!!!

Which I didn't think was too bad until the other day I pulled up behind some other biker dudes and well lets just say it was kind of embarassing, but for 1000 dollars I couldn't pass up the deal. So this is what happened!
 First the seat came off....

And then the side covers.... And the next thing you know I have all the parts off of my bike laying out in my backyard!

This is what my bike looked like with all the parts off of it.
This is what my parts began to look like after I sanded and primed them.

Then came the good part, after I got all the pieces sanded and primed I began putting the first coat of paint on...

And then finally... I got all the pieces painted. I put about 3 coats on and then after that I put a couple coats of clear coat on the top to really make it shine. And now 20 dollars later I have a brand new paint job. Here is the finished product!

Now you just need yourself a skull and crossbones bandana and those biker dudes may let you ride with them. maybe. ;)

Beautiful work - looks great!!
but was hoping you would leave it Pink until you lead the runners in the Susan G. Komen Race - Pink would have been a perfect color for that.
Love you Trixie
